This Weekend: A Jazz Age Social with Live Music
Feeling the need to remove oneself from the present era doesn’t seem like a bad idea, what with all the Next door drama, election coverage, and dank memes out there. (Remember when “dank” was a bad thing?) That said, we don’t need all things to be like the “good” old days; we’ll keep our progress and just take a nice day of artistic time travel.
Don your whites or flapper best, dancing shoes, and bring your parasols, for an outdoor afternoon filled with the music of the Singapore Slingers, Razzmajazz Dixieland Band, Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society, and even Bill Flynt’s steam calliope beckoning all to enter the park. Peruse vintage cars, play a fine game of croquet, horseshoes or badminton, and tuck into a picnic. And don’t forget dancing on the wooden dance floor.
It’s hard to leave home sometimes—trust us, we know. But Trails at Creekside in Allen, Texas, believes it is important to not only stay active in your community, but to also express curiosity about new subjects. This event is the perfect opportunity to spread your roots and learn new things.
